New College offers a range of courses to suit a wide variety of needs and callings.
Certificates
Certificates are designed to give a thorough grounding in biblical studies, doctrine and practical Christian work. They do not have the placement element of the studies.Diplomas
Diplomas are designed to give a thorough basis for Christian ministry. They cover the same areas of biblical studies, doctrine and practical Christian work. However in addition to the academic studies students must complete a practical placement.
All Course can be streamed individually to work on mission, church planting, emerging church issues, worship leading and youth.
One Year Certificate – 2 Semesters attendance and completed work.
One Year Diploma – same as Certificate but with a 3 day placement.
Two Year Certificate – 4 Semesters attendance and completed work
Two Year Diploma - same as Certificate but with a 3day placement.
Three Year Certificate – 6 Semesters attendance and completed work
Bachelor of Divinity Diploma same as Certificate but with a 3 day placement
POST GRADUATE COURSES
Master of Arts
Entrance
A first degree in any subject or 5 years in full time ministry or 10 part time.
A short paper exploring the proposed subject of 5,000 words
Course
A 25,000 word thesis. 6 Reading courses plus Greek or Hebrew
There will be church assessment and reports.
Research Diploma
A thesis of 10,000 words. It may be used as an access route for the MA/MPhil
MPhil
Is the first year of the PhD a 25,000 word thesis to be submitted
6 reading courses plus Greek or Hebrew. There will be church assessment and reports.
Doctor of Philosophy
Entrance
At least 3 years in Church Ministry. There must be a clear sense of purpose for the Student. Either Master’s Degree or First Class First Degree
Course
The completion of an M Phil over one year
The Thesis of 60,000 words
The addition of 6 reading courses one source book to be in another language
A minimum of 60 teaching hours. There will church assessment and reports.
